Episode 10 of the Stelvio Chronicles recounts the sights and the sounds of last week's 2019 Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham. We review our highlights of a show which had something for everyone, from F1 to a Monster Truck and everything in-between.
Presented by Sean Smith, joined by Sam Green, Chris Strickland and Alistair Walker
Birmingham, the far, far north! (Debatably)
A place where, once a year, hoards of the UK's motorsport fans converge on the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) to view some of the best engineering marvels on the day. Formula 1, WRC, Formula E, Karting, every single 4-wheeled machine built for speed is located in 1 interconnected colossus of 5 air hanger sized halls.
So there we were (after a 200 mile drive from the South at 5 in the morning), greeted straight away by an LMP1 car, followed by an unscheduled embarrassment by McLaren's 2019 F1 drivers Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, and then a whole day of motorsport utopia thereafter, including a Proton Iriz R5.
Re-live our experiences with the images and podcast below. There really was something for everyone so you might as well listen, you're almost guaranteed to like some of it!!
My thanks to Stelvio Automotive's almost regular cast these days, Sam Green, Chris Strickland and Alistair Walker for a great day and an awesome discussion (and some of the photos you see above).
